8099. Watson, J. A. March 29. Spray producers.-Relates to a spraying-nozzle applicable for sprinkling lawns and for other purposes. The water enters the central chamber a and passes out to the chamber b through passages which give it a rotary movement. From the chamber it escapes through the annular space between the cone 2 and the edges of the aperture C. The fineness of the spray may be regulated by turning the casing B, so as to screw it on or off the central core. The angle of the cone may be varied, and it may be truncated or rounded at the tip. A small aperture 6 is preferably provided at the tip. The rotation of the water is effected by passing it through tangential holes 4, Fig. 6, or between inclined ribs 9, Fig. 5, or through apertures 10, Fig. 2, formed between overlapping flanges 12 on the cone. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, the pressure is equalized in the chamber 11, the water afterwards passing through the contracted space 13 between the cone and the casing. The hose pipe is attached in any convenient manner, and a supporting peg or stand may be provided.
