Abstract
188,994. Plant, J. Dec. 17, 1921. Moulding hollow - ware; pressing plungers and dies. -Egg-cups and like hollowware are moulded between male and female dies, of which the male die is constructed in three relatively movable parts 4, 5, 13, adapted on being raised out of the female die to give a threefold release to the moulded article. The body part 4 has a projecting stem 13, which screws into a recess in an extension 12 of the plunger head 11. The upper part 14 slidable in the stem 13 rests normally on the shoulder formed between the parts 4, 13, and is held in contact with the moulded article during the initial upward movement of the part 4 by a spring 15. The lower part 5 is supported by a disc 7 on a stem 6 sliding in a recess in the part 4, and is similarly held in contact with the article by a spring 9. The female die is formed in halves 1, 1, and has a bottom ejecting plate 3.
