Seat adjustments; rests.-The pivoted back e of a chair is angularly adjusted by the movement of a slidable assembly comprising racks b, uprights c and a cross-bar d, each rack being held in adjusted position by the engagement therewith of a pin carried by a pivoted lever f, which may be pressed downwards by the spring f<3>, or may be held out of engagement by the leg f<4>. An extensible foot-rest g may be mounted on runners a<6>, and may comprise a rectangular frame, pivoted at g<2>, and which may be held in angularly adjusted position by the retractable catch members j. A slidably mounted foot stool m may be provided.
