Abstract

188,699. Bloxam, A. G., (Aluminum Co. of america). June 13, 1921. Alloys.-Aluminium alloys containing copper and magnesium, with or without manganese, chromium, or other metal, are improved by the addition of an alkali metal. For example up to 2 per cent of calcium may be added to an aluminium alloy containing about 4 per cent of copper and about 0.5 per cent of magnesium, with or without about 1 per cent of manganese. The allovs may be made by utilizing suitable proportions of previously prepared rich alloys of aluminium with the other constdtuent metals.
