Abstract

187,521. Ramsey, J. H. Dec. 29, 1921. Driving - chains w i t h separate joint pins. - In driving-chains of the " silent " type wherein each link is composed of a number of plates 5 and the links are connected together by bipartite pins 10, 11, the members 10, 11 have co-operating convex faces adapted to roll upon one another, and flat faces seated upon flattened parts 8 of otherwise circular apertures 7 in the link plates. The two flat faces 8 in each plate are inclined at 10‹ to each other. The members 10 of the pintles are retained between the side plates 16 of the chain, and the members 11 project through these plates and are retained by spring wires 19 engaging peripheral recesses in them.
