Abstract

187,084. Brintons, Ltd., and Osborne, C. Aug. 26, 1921. Shuttleless looms.-The weft-inserting needle in looms for carpet weaving, and of the type wherein the needle eye is at right-angles to the plane of the warp threads, has its eye so situated that one or both ends or sides thereof are spaced away from the point of contact between the needle and the warp threads, thereby preventing rubbing therewith. Thus, the axis or centre 3, Fig. 4, of the eye 1, Figs. 1 and 4, may pass to one side of the centre of the needle 2. The eye may be inclined. The Provisional Specification refers to an arrangement wherein the eye is arranged diametrically of the needle.
