Abstract

183,815. Courtney, G. July 28, 1921, [Convention date]. Washing-machines with enclosed rotary receptacles.-In a rotary washing-machine, the cage is longitudinally corrugated or fluted, and has annular series of long narrow slots which may be placed in the valleys or sides of the corrugations. The cage is also slotted at its ends and is rotated within the stationary casing by spur-wheels 15, 16 and a crank handle 18. The cage and casing are provided with doors, that for the casing being furnished with guides 27<1> and with a rubber pad to engage beadings on the body. Deflectors 30 may be arranged on the casing to direct the liquid into the cage.
