Corner joints and strengthening-pieces. - Relates to means for securing together, in such a manner as to prevent t subsequent withdrawal of the securing-means, the ends of boards, as employed in the construction of packing-cases &c. In the case of boards meeting at an angle, a correspondingly bent strip B having a sharpened driving-edge b<1> and provided with projecting parts b<4> formed by cutting the centre portion of the metal, is employed. Projecting tongues b' may in addition be formed in the blunt edge of the strip by cutting and turning up the metal. The means for connecting boards butting edgewise comprises a flat metal strip similarly formed, but in this case the tongues b<3> are bent in opposite directions. As an additional securing-means, screws may be fixed from the inner surface of the boards to pass through the holes b<2>.
