Abstract
181,592. Cracknell, J. G. May 27, 1921. Vacuum cleaning- apparatus.-A vacuum cleaner comprises a suction box containing a filter bag and resting on the carpet &c to be cleaned, communicating with the interior of a supporting tube on which slides a bellows located at a distance suitable for hand operation above the suction box and also communicating with the tube. The e bellows shown comprises a handle D sliding on the tube. and inlet valves E lead ing from the tubo B and outlet valves H. At the lower end of the tube, the suction box comprises a hinged lid M and a mouth N by which the dusty air is drawn in, passing through a tube 0 to a filter bag L secured on the upper side of a slide J held in position by springs I. The handle D of the bellows is held stationary while a handle C forming the upper end of the tube is reciprocated operating the cleaner. According to the provisional Specification. a brush may be located in the nozzle.
