Abstract
179,818. Williams, I. W. T. May 6, 1921. Hinges and pivots.-The doors E of tip-carts, motor-lorries, colliery vehicles, and the gates of pit cages are detachably secured to the hinge mounted in or secured to the vehicle &c. side frames D by means of turn-buckle securing keys B carried by extensions of the hinge sockets A, the keys being slotted at I so that they can be moved about the pins C into a position at right angles with the door and in line with the socket members. The cross-bar H secured to the upper part of the door is then free to be moved off the hinge socket extensions, and the door E removed. The door has also a lower cross-bar which is slotted to engage with keys to secure the door in the closed position. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 182,589.
