Disc apparatus; driving-devices. -In machines in which an emerywheel i or other tool is mounted on a spindle f having fast and loose pulleys b, c, the loose pulley c is fixed to a counter-spindle g and is journaled on ball bearings on the end of the spindle f. Detachably affixed to the spindle g is a flexible shaft k carrying at its free end a grinding or other tool to operate at a distance from the machine upon parts of the work usually inaccessible. A flexible shaft may be fitted upon each spindle f, g, either being used as required.
