Pulverulent-fuel furnaces.-To effect the complete combustion of pulverulent-fuel which is mixed with an initial supply of air to effect ignition and introduced downwardly into the combustion chamber 11 of a boiler furnace through one or more burners 10, supplementary supplies of cold air are admitted through a number of openings 12 arranged at different levels in the front wall of the furnace. Doors or plates 15 regulate the admission of air. Air may be admitted through doors 13, 14.
