Abstract
176,279. Worcester Royal Porcelain Co., Ltd., and White, G. N. June 7, 1921. Funnel filters. - Relates to funnels for laboratorv and other purposes and to the kind used for filtering liquids where a partial vacuum is produced below the funnel to accelerate the filtration. A perforated diaphragm, on which the filter-paper &c. is placed, is located in the body of the funnel and baffle is arranged below the diaphragm to form a chamber between the baffle and the bodv or neck of the funnel, from which the air may be extracted by any suitable means. As shown, the funnel of porcelain &c. has a cylindrical body portion b and a conical base portion c leading into a tapered neck d, a truncated inverted conical member f with a central aperture k at its lower end being arranged below the diaphragm e in the portion b and one or more tubes h leading from the annular chamber g formed between the member f and the base c to any suitable suction device.
