The gauge A has one fixed contact face a<1>, and a movable contact face b<1> on an anvil B which slides in a casing C and influences a needle d<1> moving over' a scale D. The casing C is so mounted in the body A that it can be adjusted by a screw nut E against the influence of a flat spring F. When either contact is worn, the nut E is screwed up so that the gauge reads " zero " when a standard piece is placed in the gap.
