Abstract
169,971. Offenstadt, L. S. Oct. 7, 1920, [Convention date]. Keyholes, obstructing; padlocks.-The key is secured to the lock by means of a padlock 1 carrying a torque 2 which is introduced into the keyhole after partial rotation of the key 8. A notch 5 in a plate 4 secured to the shackle 3 of the padlock engages behind a shoulder on the stem of the key. A special key 11, Fig. 4, having a series of notches 12 may be employed in cases where the padlock cannot be directly applied to the ordinary key of the lock. The torque 2 may be hinged to the padlock casing, or it may be secured to the shackle part.
