Abstract
169,733. Escaffre, J. March 31, 1920. Current motors; driving and transmission mechanism, special applications of.-A wind motor comprises a rotor mounted on a vertical shaft within a cylindrical casing carrying winddirecting vanes at its top, bottom, and sides, and carried on a metal pylon. The rotor comprises a double conical member 2, Fig. 6, mounted on a shaft 10 carrying vanes 9. The casing within which the rotor is mounted consists of discs 3, 4, Fig. 1, having arcuate vanes 1 between them, and vanes 5 mounted on their upper and lower sides respectively. Slits 6, of the form shown in Figs. 1 and 4, may be provided to allow egress of the air. The shaft 10 may be provided with gearing of the kind shown in Fig. 6. in which an internally-toothed gear-wheel 12 on the shaft 13 is driven by a gear-wheel on the shaft 10 through an intermediate gear-wheel mounted on a. spindle 31. Several rotors may be mounted one above the other on concentric shafts, which may be telescopic. Platforms and ladders may be provided for access to the rotors.
