Abstract

Colloidal metallic oxides such as oxides of iron and aluminium are removed from ores, such as tin and tungsten ores, by the addition of a deflocculating agent to a pulp of the ore. The deflocculating agent may be alkaline, such as sodium silicate, carbonate, or phosphate, or neutral, such as sodium oxalate or acetate, or acid, such as silicic acid sol.
