Gravity, materials descending by. - Relates to apparatus for conditioning or heating wheat and other cereals of the type having a series of vertical sections in which are fitted radiators c through which a supply of heated fluid is passed. According to the invention, means is provided to heat two of the walls a, b of the apparatus adjacent to the radiators so that grain in contact with the walls will not escape the heating process. The heating fluid is supplied to one of the jackets preferably at the bottom e and passes through connections h, i to the radiators and to the other jacket, leaving by the outlet d. Asbestos or other non-conductor j encloses the jacketed walls. The inlet and outlet for the heating fluid may both be on the same jacket, a partition being provided to direct the flow correctly.
