Abstract

165,551. Hodgkison, F. H., and Withers, S. H. April 6, 1920. Stoppers adapted for discharging contents; stoppers fitted with wrenches.-A pourer and filter of the type adapted to be secured to petrol cans &c. and comprising a spout which is inserted in the tank of a motor vehicle and is provided with an air inlet, and means for opening and closing the petrol outlet is formed in one piece with a lever or wrench for unscrewing the stopper of the petrol can. A tube 1 screw-threaded at one end to fit the mouth of the petrol can is. formed integral with a wrench 7 which fits between the lugs on the stopper of the can, and' may have projections 10 to engage therewith. An air inlet 5 and a petrol outlet 6 are closed by a flanged sleeve 11 slidably mounted on the tube 1,. and the mouth of the tank or other receiving receptacle, when the pourer is inserted therein, engages the flange 12 on the sleeve 11 and causes the openings 5, 6 to be uncovered. The wrench may be made separately from the tube 1 and' then be mounted on it. A wire gauze filter 18 is provided.
