Abstract

165,065. Balsillie, J. G. June 15, 1920, [Convention date]. Reflectors. -Reflectors wherein all meridians are curves for use in light projectors, more particularly vehicular head-lamps, are provided with corrugations, furrows, or grooves parallel to one meridian. A source of light is placed at the focal point of a stigmatic reflector or at or about the focal point of one or other of the principal meridians of an astigmatic reflector, such as described in Specification 142,812, with which meridian the corrugations are parallel. Fig. 2 shows a reflector A, having corrugations parallel to its smaller principal meridian and fitted with an electric light B, which may be mounted in a vehicular headlamp. The width and radius of the corrugations may be varied, but, preferably, corrugations 35 to an inch of <7>/32 inch radius are employed. Other dimensions are given.
