Abstract

163,239. Stumpf, P. Aug. 18, 1920. Ploughs.-In a power-driven plough in which the shares are forced into and lifted out of the ground by means of a compressed-air cylinder, the arrangement is such that the shares are continuously kept up to their work by the compressedair pressure and, on meeting an obstruction, move rearwardly and upwardly only by overcoming that pressure. In the plough shown, the piston-rod K of the compressed-air cylinder C is connected directly to the plough beam P, which is hung from the main frame by two nearly vertical links H<1>, H<2>. In a modification, the piston-rod K is horizontal and is connected to a bell-crank lever which replaces the link H<2>.
