Abstract

162,804. Barrows, J. E. Feb. 6, 1920. Cable and wire terminals. - Couplings for sparking-plugs &c., preferably made from a single blank of sheet metal, comprise two plates 5 lying upon one another, which may form extensions of a part 4 enclosing the cable end, having slots each with a large end 7 to take the head of the sparking-plug and a small end 8 to engage the neck thereof or with a groove in a nut on the plug terminal. The plates are locked against relative displacement at one part by lugs 6, and a projection. 9 is formed between the large and small end of each slot so that the device has to be forced into engagement with the neck, whereupon it becomes locked against lateral displacement. The cable is connected to the coupling by means of a wood-screw 3 which engages a hole in a member 1 which lies across the end of the cable.
