Description

(54) A SWITCH CABINET OR THE LIKE HAVING A STRUCTURE MANUFACTURED FROM PROFILED RODS (71) We, LICENTIA PATENT VER WALTUNGS G.m.b.H., of 1 Theodor Stern-Kai, 6 Frankfurt/Main 70, Federal Republic of Germany, a German body corporate, do hereby declare the inventiion.
for which we pray that a patent may be granted to us, and the method by which it is to be performed. to be particularly described in and by the following statement: The invention relates to a switching cabinet or the like having a structure made of profiled rods.
From German Offenlegunsschrift No. 23 21 061 a structure for electrical switching systems is already known which comprises C-profile rods which are connected together so as to be detachable at their corners and joined by means of connection pieces so as also to be infinitely adjustable. The connecting pieces comprising flat material are inserted inside the profiled rods and are pressed with the aid of headed screws against the inwardly directed edge webs of the C-profiled rods.
The invention seeks to create a stable.
rigid switch cabinet or the like of the type stated at the outset with little expense, said switch cabinet or the like being easily assembled and permitting any desired subdivision of the area.
According to the invention, there is provided a switch cabinet having a structure comprising hollow profile rods in which a flange with apertures therein is provided on at least one side.
This type of hollow profile can ensure very great stabilitv and the flanges arranged on the sides permit simple and reliable connection of the individual profile rods to the structure. A great advantage lies in the fact that the apertures are no longer arranged in the hollow profile rods themselves but in the flanges. Thus the danger that these profiles might be weakened by apertures can be avoided and also the danger of moisture penetrating them. In refinement of the invention hollow profile rods manufactured by bending are preferably used for the structure. This means a particularly simple and versatile manufacture.
The hollow profile rods preferably have a flange with apertures in each case on two adjacent sides, whereby the two flanges are offset towards each other or awav from each other by the same amount from their respective centre position. Thus it is possible to construct a switched cabinet in which there is the same spacing on all sides of this cabinet from the strut outer edges up to the respective surface of the flange. The lateral outer walls of the metal may be bent at their edges and may be fixed with screws to the flanges. Thus a uniform surface on all sides of this type of switch cabinet is the result.
In refinement of the invention, the flanges may be cut off at the corners and junctions at 45 , meet flush against each other and be connected together via rectangular connection plates and screws.
Moreover, the 8 corners of the structure at which three strut profile rods in each case meet at right-angle may be connected by a tripod-like corner connector in each case.
With a square cross-section of the profile rods, the corner connectors preferably have a cube-like shape with three extensions standing at right-angles to each other, these being capable of insertion into the hollow ends of the profile rods meeting each other.
The great stability of the structure caused by the profile rods themselves is still further increased by this type of fixing of the profile rods. Profile rods in accordance with the invention may be manufactured very simply, for example by means of folding. and as goods sold by the metre and cut off to length according to what is required.
For vertical subdivision of the area of this type of switch cabinet two adjacent profile rods in each case may, for example, be provided with only one flange pointing to the inside of the casing. For horizontal subdivision of the area T-profile rails arranged on flanges of the profile rods may serve to divide up the field horizontally, these can be arranged at any desired spot in accordance with the apertures on the flanges of the profile rods. The rear region of the inner space of the switch cabinet can be defined bv vertical U-profile rails through which the laterally horizontal T-profile rails pass. With flush profile tracks, the projecting profiled rod may be provided with a slit at its end into which the flange of the other profiled rod engages.
The invention will now be described in greater detail by way of example, with reference to the drawings, in which: Figures la and 1b show a hollow profile rod in two embodiments of the invention in cross section; Figure 2 shows a T-profile in crosssection; Figure 3 shows a U-profile in crosssection; Figure 4 shows a structure of a switch cabinet according to the invention schematically in front view. side view and in plan view; FigureS shows a section A-A according to Figure 4 on a different scale; Figure 6 shows a corner connection of a structure in accordance with the invention in perspective view; Figure 7 shows a tripod-like corner connector; Figure 8 shows a structure in accordance with Figure 4 having additional vertical subdivision of the area.
Figure 9 shows the fixing of a T-track in perspective view, and Figures 10 and 11 show profiled rods in accordance with Figures 1 and 2 in a folded embodiment.
Figure la shows a hollow square profile 10 in cross-section having two flanges 11.
these flanges being provided with apertures 12. Flanges 11 are arranged on two adjacent profile sides and are offset towards each other by the same amount from the respec tive centre line 13, 14, such that the surfaces 15, 16 of the flanges which are not adjacent each other have the same spacing 17 from the respective profile edges.
Figure lb shows a profile rod 18 having only one flange 19 which is offset towards one edge also from its middle position 13 by the same amount, so that here too a spacing 17 is given from the adjacent edge of the profile rod.
Figure 4 shows schematically a basic embodiment of a structure made of these profile rods for a switch cabinet. Thus at the corners there are four vertical profile rods which are connected at their ends respectively by four horizontal profile rods.
As can be seen particularly from Figure 5 the two front profile rods 18 running vertically have only one flange 19, while the two rear vertical profile rods 10 each have two flanges 11. The same is true for the horizontal profile rods. Every three profile rods which meet each other in accordance with Figure 6 are connected together at the corners of the structure by a corner connector 20 in each case in accordance with Figure 7, the extensions of these corner connectors being inserted into the hollow ends of the profile rods. Moreover. the flush flanges of the profile rods are cut off at an angle of 45C and are connected together via three connection plates 21 and two screws 22 in each case. Therefore, on the front side of the flange, only profile rods 18, each having one flange are used because, at this side, doors are provided for the cabinet and thus the second flange can be dispensed with.
Figure 8 shows a structure in a crosssection A-A according to Figure 4 in which two abutting vertical profile rods 18 having only one flange 19 in each case are additionally provided in the centre at the front side these serving to subdivide the area vertically with appropriately arranged profile rods 1() on the rear side. Moreover. in addition, vertical U-profile rails 23 are provided in Figure 5 these serving to subdivide the rear region of this type of structure.
Figure 9 shows in a perspective view an arrangement of a T-profile track 24 in accordance with Figure 2, which serves horizontal subdivision of the area. This T-profile rail 24 is also fixed by screws to the flanges 11 or 19 of the strut profile rods 10 or 18. Thus the arrangement can be organized such that. at the same time U-shaped profile rails 23 through which T-shaped profile tracks 24 pass (see for example the broken line representation in the side parts of Figure 5).
For reasons of simplicity the upright flanges of the horizontal strut profile rods have not been shown in Figures 5 and 8.
