Description

(54) IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO CONTAINER SUPPORTS (71) I, JOHN VICrOR GEORGE GROVES, a British Subject of Kimberley, 1, The Drive, Craigweil, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, do hereby declare the invention, for which I pray that a patent may be granted to me, and the method by which it is to be performed, to be particularly described in and by the following statement: This invention relates to mobile supports for containers and particularly to a support for a cylindrical container.
According to the invention there is provided a mobible support for a container comprising a circular, horizontal frame having at least three vertical legs projecting downwardly therefrom on the extremities of which mobile means e.g. wheels or castors are located, and supporting members extending between the legs to support a container located within the circular frame, the frame and the legs being of tubular construction.
The invention will now be described by way of example only with particular reference to the accompanying drawings wherein: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the container support; and Figure 2 is a perspective view of the support with a cylindrical container located therein.
The container support comprises a circular horizontal frame 1 of tubular metal, preferably stainless steel having three vertical legs 2, 3, 4, projecting downwardly therefrom and spaced equidistantly at 1200 intervals around the periphery of the circular frame 1.
Respective bull castors 5, preferably 6f polypropylene are located on the ends of the vertical legs 2, 3, 4, the castors 5 having projections 6 which are spigoted into the tubular legs. A strengthening and supporting member 7 extends between the tubular legs 2, 3, and a further strengthening and supporting member 8 extends from tubular leg 4 diametrically across the circular frame to the centre of support member 7.
As shown in Figure 2, a circular container 9 is located within the circular frame 1 and rests on the supporting member 7, 8.
It will be appreciated that the invention is susceptible to considerable modification and is not to be deemed limited to the particular constructional feature described by way of example only.
WHAT I CLAIM IS: 1. A mobile support for a container comprising a circular, horizontal frame having at least three vertical legs projecting downwardly therefrom on the extremities of which mobile means e.g. wheels or castors are located, and supporting members extending between the legs to support a container located within the circular frame, the frame and the legs being of tubular construction.
2. A mobile support as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the said at least three vertical legs are spaced equidistantly around the periphery of the circular frame.
3. A mobile support as claimed in Claim 1 or 2 wherein the frame and legs are of stainless steel.
4. A mobile support as claimed in Claim 2 wherein the legs terminate in ball castors having projections arranged to spigot into the tubular legs.
5. A mobile support as claimed in Claim 4 wherein the castors are of polypropylene.
6. A mobile support as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the supporting members comprise a first member extending between two adjacent legs in chordal relationship to the circular frame and a second member extending from the third leg diametrically across the frame to the centre of the first member.
7. A mobile support for a container and substantially as hereinbefore described and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
