Abstract

158,423. Stokes, L. E. Nov. 22, 1919. Handles; parcel and like carriers.- A handle for use on bags &c. or with a pair of straps for parcel carrying is made from a blank, Fig. 2, having an elongated central portion 1 and two substantially rectangular end portions 2, the edges of the portion 1 being bent upwards to meet along the top of the handle, Fig. 3, and the portions 2 being bent upwards into cylindrical form 9 to accommodate hooks or links 10. The handle may be covered with leather 3, the edges 5 of which are sewn together along the top of the handle or are secured between the edges of the blank; the leather covering has end portions 4 extending over the cylindrical ends 9 of the handle. The links 10 are simple loops of wire, but they may be extended into downwardly projecting hooks; the links may be formed with two loops disposed at right angles to one another or the loop may terminate on a hook member closed by a spring plate.
