Abstract
155,749. Henderson, F. July 19, 1920. Hats, securing to head.- A fastener for a lady's hat comprises a pair of parallel bars 3, 3<a>, and a volute spring 1 having a stem 2 which passes through one of the bars, the other of said bars, when the spring is extended, being disposed between coils thereof. In use, eyes 4 are secured inside the hat, the stem 2 carrying a detachable knob 5 outside the hat. In the position shown, the spring 1 engages the wearer's hair. On turning the knob 5 the coils are withdrawn within the bars 3, 3<a>. The end of the stem 2 has a flat sharpened end for piercing the knob 5, and is retained therein by a spring 8 secured to the knob.
