Abstract

Aliphatic 2-aminoalcohols of the formula <IMAGE> are prepared by reacting the corresponding 1-hydroxy-2-ketones with ammonia and hydrogenation or reductive amination of the resulting oxazolidine. The meaning of R and the reaction conditions can be found in Patent Claim 1. The 2-aminoalcohols can be used as emulsifiers or intermediates.
