Abstract

Velour material made of synthetic, linear polyamide fibres is dyed with anionic dyes from an aqueous liquor in the presence of a pH regulator and optionally dyeing assistants. At the start of the dyeing process the liquor pH is 7.5 to 9 and the liquor temperature is 70 DEG to 100 DEG C. After at least 5 minutes 0.3 to 5 parts by weight, based on 1000 parts by weight of liquor, of a half-ester (monoester) of glycols and C3-C10-dicarboxylic acids are added.
