Abstract

155,174. Meltz, M. May 8, 1920. Mop-wringers; brushes combined with mops.- Relates to cleaning-appliances of the kind comprising a scrubbing-brush attached to a tubular casing into which the head of a mop can be axially withdrawn for squeezing, and consists in arranging the brush to move so as either to free or to obstruct the mouth of the casing. The brush d is pivoted at one side of its centre to one side of the mouth of the tapering casing c, and has a rib f against which the mop can be pressed to restrain rotation of the outer ends of the strands in wringing. A longitudinal wire device e with lateral handle locks the brush in either position by means of an arm e<2>. A leather &c. wedge on the mop-handle may retain the casing in its upper position. A piece of hearthstone or soap may be held in a clip at the side.
