Abstract

The rolled-bale press is equipped with a pick-up device (6) and with a following approximately cylindrical press space (3), on the circumference of which are arranged a plurality of driven conveying rollers (2) lined up in a row. Between the conveying rollers (2), the pick-up device (6) is followed by a drawing-in gap (5). To avoid chain drives involving a high outlay and requiring maintenance, the drive of the conveying rollers (2) is carried out via a central driving wheel (7) which is arranged coaxially relative to the centre axis (4) of the press space (3) and the circumference of which is drive-connected to corresponding driving wheels (10) of the conveying rollers (2). The central driving wheel (7) forms a side wall of the press space (3), as a result of which the braking of the crop during winding is avoided and a low drive power is therefore also needed. <IMAGE>
