Abstract

154,835. Goold, L. W., (Stark, O. G.). March 23, 1920. Radiators, motor-car and like.-A radiator for motor-vehicles comprises a frame 1 having upper and lower headers t, t<1> and a removable cooling section c of any standard type provided with hollow connecting-members or conduits 6, 6<1> for attachment to the headers. The headers and cooling section are formed with rearwardly converging walls to facilitate the mounting and removal of the section. A construction of section is shown in Fig. 3 comprising upper and lower circulating compartments 5, 5<1>, cooling elements and slotted plates 4; the conduits 6, 6<1> are provided with flanges d, through holes in which are adapted to pass screw-threaded studs 7 secured to bosses m in the front walls of the two headers. Disposed on opposite sides of the centre of the compartments 5, 5<1> are depressions h which receive springs or pads 8 of resilient material such as rubber for the purpose of absorbing shocks.
