Abstract
1537374 Disperse dye compositions BASF AG 23 Jan 1976 [24 Jan 1975] 02643/76 Heading D1B Non-ionic aqueous disperse dye compositions comprise a mixture of (a) 5 to 65 per cent by weight of one or more finely divided disperse dyes, (b) from 0.5 to 60 per cent by weight of one or more water-soluble surface-active agents obtained by reacting one mole of an amine of formula: in which R is a C 2 to C 6 alkylene radical, R<SP>1</SP> is hydrogen or C 1 to C 6 alkyl group, n is 1 to 5, with from 3 to 50 moles of propylene oxides per equivalent of amino hydrogen in the amine and reacting this reaction product with from 2 to 80 moles of ethylene oxide per equivalent of amino hydrogen originally present, the resulting surface active agent having a proportion of terminal polyethylene oxide blocks of 30 to 80% by weight on the basis of the molecular weight of the surface active agent, (c) from 34.5 to 94.5 per cent by weight of water or a mixture of water with a water-retaining agent and optionally further conventional additives for aqueous formulations. Azo, anthraquinone and quinophthalone dyes and mixtures thereof may be used. The aqueous compositions may be thickened and used in transfer printing processes.
