Abstract

1535553 Conveyer systems SIEMENS AG 14 Jan 1976 [15 April 1975 (2)] 1300/76 Heading B7L A conveyer system comprises a combined and integral track and guide rail P of upwardly open channel section, having a central horizontal track portion M, upwardly and outwardly inclined side portions S and outwardly extending generally horizontal guide flanges on the outer edges of the portions S and provided with downwardly facing guide surfaces F; and a carriage G provided with two pairs of non- driven rollers R engaging the surfaces F and rotatable at L in depending side skirts of the carriage G, and a central driven wheel A engaging the upper side of the central portion of the track M. The wheel A is driven by an electric motor (not shown) which also drives a gear Z engageable with racks X at track sections on inclines. Triangular strips T on the track M carry electric conductor tracks B and electric control tracks K all engageable by collectors on the carriage G, the control of the carriage being effected through the agency of control keyboard E, for switch point routing (not shown). The diameters of the wheel A and rollers R and their axes are arranged so that the rollers R can engage a flat surface other than the rail track M, when the carriage is removed therefrom, so that the carriage does not then tilt when running on the flat surface.
