1534221 Making cemented hard metal tubes or rings IPARI SZERELV•NY •S G•PGY‡R 25 July 1977 31151/77 Heading C7D Sintered tubes, sleeves or rings of cemented carbide containing >15% Co e.g. WC/Co, are made from an isostatically pressed and presintered compact. A rod at least the surface of which is a presintered and machined metal oxide is inserted into a bore and the assembly placed on a metal oxide plate is sintered at 1280 - 1320‹C for 0À1 - 10 minutes. After cooling, the rod is removed from the bore by drilling. The rod may be of carbon coated with Al 2 O 3 or a solid oxide rod.
