1533807 Tapping rubber trees C C TONG 19 Oct 1977 43541/77 Heading C3E Rain water is prevented from flowing down the trunk of a rubber tree 1 into a tapping cut 2 and collecting cup 4 by affixing to the tree above the line of the cut a rain guard 5 comprising an elongate moulded rubber strip of triangular cross-section to form a gutter, said gutter sloping downwardly to a discharge region circumferentially offset from the drainage end of the tapping cut and the cup.
