Abstract
1533395 Electron beam apparatus NIPPON ELECTRIC KAGOSHIMA Ltd 29 Dec 1975 [27 Dec 1974] 53027/75 Heading H1D In making a multiple digit display panel, componenents including grid electrodes and cathode supports are fixed to an insulating substrate using a first glass frit and baking to above its crystallization temperature; the substrate is then sealed in a housing using a second glass frit having the same melting point as the unheated first frit and baking to the same temperature; the melting point of the first frit being raised by the heating step. This allows both baking steps to be carried out in the same furnace without the first frit softening during the second baking. The frits may be the same or the second frit may be non-crystallizable. The panel includes anode arrays coated with phosphor on the substrate and getter rods on the cathode supports.
