Abstract
1533209 Removing H 2 S; sulphur DR C OTTO & CO GmbH 30 Sept 1977 [2 Oct 1976] 40653/77 Heading C1A In a process in which H 2 S is scrubbed out of a gas stream, the loaded scrubbing liquor is treated with steam to produce an H 2 S-rich gas which is converted to elementals in a Claus plant, the offgases from which are hydrogenated, the hydrogenated Claus off-gases are cooled and added to the initial H Z S-containing gas stream before it reaches the scrubber. The cooling may be effected in 2 stages, indirect followed by direct, and the condensate resulting therefrom may be recycled to the steam separator unit.
