1532955 Fluoraluminosilicate glasses NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 14 Oct 1975 [24 Oct 1974] 28101/78 Divided out of 1532954 Heading C1M A fluoraluminosilicate glass contains (by weight) less than 14% fluorine and has a ternary oxide composition consisting of the alumina comprising 15-50%, the calcium oxide up to 50% and the silica 10-65% by wt. of the glass, and wherein the wt. ratio CaO:SiO 2 is greater than 0À92 or the wt. ratio CaO:Al 2 O 3 is greater than zero but less than 0.74. The fluorine may be incorporated as fluorite or cryolite. The glass will react with a poly(carboxylic acid) in the presence of water to form a poly(carboxylate) cement.
