Abstract

1532633 Valves LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 12 Feb 1976 [7 March 1975] 9509/75 Heading F2V A valve comprises two inlets 11, 12, two outlets 13, 14, two seats 15, 16 and two control elements 17, 18, both moved in unison by an actuating arrangement which includes a lever 29 which is pivotally interconnected to both control elements and pivotally interconnected to, and frictionally engagable with, a disc 25 connected to an actuating member 23. In the embodiment described, the actuating member 23 comprises a stem connected to a piston which is movable by fluid, in response to an external control signal, in a direction substantially parallel to the axes of movement of the control elements. In order that the elements 17, 18 are moved in unison, the cofficient of friction between the opposed surfaces of lever 29 and disc 25 should be greater than 0À2 and the necessary friction may be provided by serrations or a coating of material.
