Abstract

153,211. Hindley, L. A., and Hindley, H. D., and Taylor, W. C. H. Jan. 26, 1920. Milling - cutters. - The teeth of milling- cutters and like tools are welded into slots in the body, which is of less expensive metal, such as mild steel. The lower corners C<1> are rounded and a backing of metal D is built up behind each tooth from a welding rod, the backing being united by fusion both to the teeth and the body. The process may be carried out electrically, or by oxyacteylene welding or otherwise.
