Abstract

1531850 Dispersing gases in liquids SIMON-HARTLEY Ltd 4 Aug 1977 [10 Aug 1976] 33219/76 Heading B1C A rotatable surface aerator has on its upper surface 10 cutting blades 21 (see also Fig. 3, not shown) which cooperate with slots 20 (see also Fig. 2, not shown) in the bottom of a fixed annular chamber 16 mounted above the aerator and to which the effluent to be treated is supplied, whereby solids in the effluent are comminuted. The shaft 14 of the aerator has a downward extension 22 which carries a screw pumping member 23 in a housing 24 to which recycled sludge is supplied through a pipe 25.
