Abstract

1531282 Photographic colour transfer process FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 26 March 1976 [26 March 1975] 12396/76 Heading G2C A colour photographic transfer image is formed by developing an imagewise exposed light-sensitive element comprising a support bearing at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and, adjacent this emulsion layer, a layer containing (1) a non-diffusible reducing organic compound comprising a dye or precursor thereof in its molecule and capable of being oxidized by the oxidation product of a silver halide developing agent to release an alkali-diffusible dye or a precursor thereof; or (2) a non-diffusible reducing agent together with a non-diffusible reducing organic compound comprising a dye or precursor thereof in its molecule and capable of being oxidized by the oxidation product of a silver halide developing agent to release an alkali-diffusible dy or a precursor thereof, development being effected with an aqueous alkaline developer composition in the presence of (A) at least one developing agent selected from alkali-diffusible primary p-aminophenols and alkali-diffusible secondary p-aminophenols and (B) at least one tert-p-aminophenol developing agent of the Formula:- where each of R 14 -R 17 independently is H, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy or halogen; each of R 18 and R 19 independently is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or arylalkyl where an alkyl group or moiety or the arylalkyl group contains 1-22C, or R 1 8 and R 1 9 together complete a 5-or-6 membered ring, or R 15 and R 18 together complete a 1, 2, 3, 4, -tetrahydroquinoline ring. The reducing organic compound may be an o- or p-sulphonamidophenol, o- or p-sulphonamidoaniline, a photographic coupler, a hydrazone, a p-phenylene-diamine derivative or a hydroquinone derivative. The non-diffusible reducing agent may be a primary amino developing agent. The silver halide emulsion layer may be direct-positive (see Example 3).
