Abstract
1531086 Driving playback heads for disc records RCA CORPORATION 4 March 1976 [10 March 1975] 08666/76 Heading G5R The hinged lid 11, 18 of a player for a spirallygrooved video disc record 13 contains both a reciprocally-mounted housing 17, in which is pivoted one end of an arm 16 carrying a pick-up 15 (e.g. of the capacitive type) at its other end, and drive means, e.g. a motor 46 and a rack-andpinion 49, 48, which moves the housing 17 so that the pick-up 15 moves radially across the record 13. The record is earthed through pads 28 as described in Specification 1,531,087.
