Abstract

1530809 Hydrocarbon spray; spray producers BRITISH PETROLEUM CO Ltd 11 Nov 1976 [23 Dec 1975] 52587/75 HeadingsB1F and B2F A nozzle assembly e.g. for introducing liquid hydrocarbon to a catalytic riser, comprises a plurality of pressure jet nozzles, one of which is shown in Fig. 2, each capable of producing a conical film or spray of liquid and being spaced to give uniform distribution over the face of the assembly, feed chamber means for supplying feed to the nozzles, each nozzle comprising a cylinder 9, Fig. 2 fitted within a tube 8, at least one feed aperture 13, the open end 12 being adapted for discharge of liquid as a conical film or spray. As shown apertures 13 are tangential to produce a conical spray sheet from the nozzle. As shown in Figs. 1 and 3, feed to nozzles 1, 3, 4 and 6 is from chamber 16 via tubes 8, and feed to nozzles 2 and 5 is from chamber 19. Steam is introduced at 24, extra feed at 25 and recycled slurry at 26, 28 being a regenerated catalyst downcomer connected to riser 27.
