Abstract

1528207 Building panels ENTREPRISE CARONI SA 17 Nov 1975 [14 Feb 1975] 47258/75 Heading E1B A building panel comprises a sheet of rigid insulating material I preferably expanded polystyrene, a layer of concrete 4 having means 8, 9 securing it to one face of said sheet and defining a face of the panel, and at least two rigid members 12, 13 situated between opposite faces of the panel and at least partially embedded in the concrete, and means which may be the rigid member for connecting the panel to other external elements. The rigid members preferably extend the full height of the panel and have slotted plates 28 at their lower ends and apertured projections 17 at their upper ends for fixing in buildings. A facing of plaster 6 may be secured in situ, the corresponding face of the insulating sheet being battened or provided with plastics insertion dovetailed grooves to aid keying of the plaster. Adjacent panels are interconnected by plates 41 and nuts 39 and bolts 40. Packing strips 25, 26, 44, 45 and 51 of insulating material around the panel aid in preventing thermalbridges. Tongues may be stamped out of the webs of members 12 and 13 for connection with the reinforcement 46 and 47 in the concrete. The panel may include doors or windows.
