1528127 Solvent distillation JOHN GLADSTONE & CO (ENG) Ltd 16 Jan 1976 [16 Jan 1975] 1976/75 Heading BIB A solvent recovery process comprises distilling a first volume of a soiled solvent (e.g. dry cleaning solvent) in still, passing the solvent vapour in indirect heat transfer relationship with a second volume of soiled solvent in tank 7 so as to effect heating of said second volume, introducing controlled amounts of water into said second volume (by pump 33) such that said second volume comprises an azeotropic mixture of water and solvent having a boiling point lower than that of the solvent, whereby said azeotropic mixture can be heated to boiling by heat transfer from said solvent vapour; and condensing the solvent vapour and vapour arising from boiling of the said azeotropic mixture of water and solvent.
