Abstract

1528089 Unloading loose particulate material SCANIAINVENTOR AB 8 Dec 1976 [17 Dec 1975] 51246/76 Headings B8H and B8S Apparatus for unloading loose particulate solid material 38 into a supply 39 includes a supply pipe 10 with positive discharge device 16, illustrated as a conveyer screw 18, driven by a motor 20. As shown in the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 4 the pipe 10 is telescopic and the pressure of material at outlet end 17 is sensed by a diaphragm device 35 to control the vertical positioning of the outlet end 17, to keep the pressure on the conveyer screw relatively constant, through a motor 25 driving a drum 24 on which is wound a hoist rope 23 attached to a beam 22. The arrangement results in the material 38 being forced out below the level of the supply 39 so that the material already in the supply 39 acts as a dust trap. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3 the discharge pipe 10 is mounted on a crane structure being connected at 50 to a feed conveyer 51 pivoted at its opposite end to a gantry crane 52. The pressure of the material at the discharge end of the positive discharge device 16 is sensed by a device sensing the load on the motor 20 driving a conveyer screw 18 as in Fig. 4. The load sensing device controls the positioning of the discharge end 16 of the pipe 10 vertically and/or laterally through motors 25, 25a, 25b, 25c respectively acting to luff the conveyer 51 through rope 53, to drive the gantry crane 52 along rails (not shown), to regulate the angle between the pipe 10 and the conveyer 51 and to slew the upper parts of the apparatus through a turntable 56.
