Abstract

1527743 Adjustable valve gear B KOSTECKI E KOSTECKI 12 Nov 1975 [12 Nov 1974 and 4 Sept 1975] 46767/75 Heading F1B The outer ends of a pair of levers 2, 3 are movable by respective members 6, 7 during engine operation to vary the valve timing and opening duration. In the embodiment shown the inner ends of the levers 2, 3 are pivoted at 5 to the rocker 4. The levers may be pivoted to a bucket tappet (4a), Fig. 2 (not shown) or interposed between the cam 1 and the tappet, Fig. 3 (not shown), or a rocker having sliding engagement therewith. The inner ends of the levers 2, 3 may be pivotally connected to a member fixed to the rocker arm or tappet. The inner ends of the levers may operate a piston which actuates the value hydraulically.
