Abstract

1527740 Castors E BLICKLE [trading as HEINRICH BLICKLE METALLWARENFABRIK] 23 Dec 1975 [30 Dec 1974] 52714/75 Heading A4U A castor comprises a wheel fork 24 and a spring- loaded member 4 which is mounted in a fixed housing 2 for movement by an arm 11 fixed to the member 4 between a position shown in which the member 4 engages between the legs 22, 23 of the fork 24 to prevent swivelling of the fork and a position in which the member 4 is retracted from between the legs 22, 23 to permit the fork to swivel, Fig. 3 (not shown). The spring 7 is mounted between a peg 8 on the member 4 and a peg 9 on a bracket 10 detachably fixed in the housing 2. Rounded projections 18, 19 on the arm 11 engage cams 16, 17 on the housing 2 whereby the arm is releasably retained in its alternative positions. If the arm is moved from its upper position to the position shown in Fig. 2, the member 4 can automatically engage between the fork legs due to the spring loading.
