Abstract

1527509 Transfers for thermoprinting SUBLISTATIC HOLDING SA 17 Dec 1975 [16 Jan 1975] 51634/75 Heading D1B A temporary support for vapour phase thermoprinting of a vapour permeable final support comprising a flexible, heat-resistant base carrying on one face a single colour layer or a multi-colour print, said layer or print comprising at least two different dyestuffs of which at least one transfers in the vapour phase below 240‹C and remains on the surface of the final support and at least one other is a dyestuff which penetrates well (as defined), such that after transfer of the dyestuff from the temporary support to the final support at below 240‹C the two faces of the support are dyed in different shades in less than 100 secs. Inks used for the above supports are provided which may be aqueous, or contain organic solvents or drying oil, cellulose thickeners the dye particles not exceeding 5 microns. The above transfers may be used to print polyester fabric at 190- 210‹C. Dyestuffs which penetrate well include trifluoromethylated monoazo dyes.
